Marlene Ann Hurst
June 25th, 1935 - April 29th, 2021
Marlene was born June 25, 1937 in Colorado Springs to Elizabeth Bordenelli and Owen Gerald Bell. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 29, 2021 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Marlene was married to Raymond Hurst for forty-nine years and together, as a blended family, they had a total of nine children. Marlene loved caring for others and for many years worked as a CNA. Marlene's supporting nature and love of children lead her to open Happy Faces Childcare, which she operated for over ten years. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren, holding family gatherings, shopping, decorating, and hitting the blazing 7s. With a heart of gold, and a witty sense of humor, her strength was inspiring and incomparable. Marlene had an undeniable love for life, a contagious laugh, and had the prettiest blue eyes. Her personality was larger than life; she would tell it like it is and she loved unconditionally. Marlene was young at heart, selfless, and to know her was to love her. As a proud member of Roswell Community Church she served as Vice President of Daughters of Dorcas and as the chairperson of the Friday night church dinner group. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond E. Hurst; son, Kenneth E. Tuggle; grandchildren, Dusty Hurst, James Ace, Andrew Valdez and Zeeke Hurst.Marlene is survived by her sister, Darlene Darnall; her brother, Gary (MaryAnn) Schneider; her children, Tammie Beardsley, Michael (Tammy) Hurst, Diana (Jim) Yingling, and Terry (Jerry) Hagerman; Raymond (Glenna) Hurst, Richard Hurst, Shirley Hurst, and Lori Valdez; twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and multiple great-great-grandchildren.
