Martha O. Gaytn
April 17th, 1929 - September 11th, 2020
Martha O. Gaytn, passed away September 11, 2020, from natural causes, surrounded by her children. Martha was born in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico on April 17, 1929. She, her husband and children immigrated to the United States in 1961. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. During her life she worked as a seamstress, baker, cook and also in clothing manufacturing. She was known for her delicious tamales to her loyal customers of 50 plus years. Many came from other states in search of her wonderful tamales. She loved making and sewing beautiful quilts for her children and other special people. Martha was a giving person whom always gave her time in selfless service to others. During times when members of her church traveled from Mexico to attend the Mesa Arizona Temple, she would volunteer to care for their children at the Mezona Tri-Stake Center. She would even serve as a wet nurse for infants, while their parents attended temple sessions. She loved calling and keeping in touch with her family, extended family and friends. She was always concerned about their well-being and would often visit those loved ones that she felt needed help of any kind. One of the joys of her life was gathering with all of her children, grand-children, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is survived by her children; Obed (Lucy) Gaytn; Lev (Eloina) Gaytn; Nohemi Gaytn; Jared (Joselia) Gaytn; Ithamar Gettler; Lehi (Debra) Gaytn and Ivonne (Cesar) Romero. Mam, you left us beautiful memories. Your love and example will always guide us. You taught us to love and serve each other and others. Although we cannot see you, we feel your presence around us.
