Martin Philip Schwentick
October 28th, 1981 - February 12th, 2024
Martin Philip Schwentick, born on October 28, 1981, in Frankfurt, Germany, left us all too soon on February 12, 2024, where he passed peacefully in Phoenix, Arizona due to complications of Diabetes. Martin moved with his parents to Arizona when he was just 10 years old.
In the year 2000, Martin's (also known as Bacteria, or Bacteezy) life took a defining turn when he bought his first set of turntables. This marked the beginning of his deep involvement in the music scene, a passion that he nurtured and shared with countless others. Music was more than just a hobby for Martin; it was a way of life. He brought people together with his beats, creating memories that will linger long after the final track has played.
An energetic soul, Martin's personality was like a timeless record—classically funny, ceaselessly energetic, and unfailingly loyal. In his professional and personal life, Martin was always quick with a joke or an inspirational quote. His knack for humor and unwavering positivity provided an infectious energy to all around him. He was the kind of friend who could always make you laugh, lift your spirits, and stand by your side through thick and thin.
He is survived by his loving mother, Christine, and his sister, Victoria. He is preceded in death by his father, Bernd.
On March 23rd, 2024, friends and family gathered outdoors to celebrate Martin's life with a memorial service that we think Martin would have loved. It beautifully mirrored his love for live music and the joy it brought him. Many gathered to celebrate his life, sharing stories, laughter, and the music that defined so much of who he was. We will miss his funny quips and high-energy presence, but his legacy lives on in every beat and every heart he influenced.
Rest in peace, Martin Philip Schwentick. May your tunes play on forever.
