Martine Glass Cox, 90, passed away on April 9, 2022, in Venice, FL. She was born on June 22, 1931, in Gainesville, FL to Arthur Martin and Helen Glass. Martine is a 4th generation Floridian and graduated from PK Yonge High School. She then attended Mary Washington College. Nana, as she was called by her grandchildren, was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. She treasured her family and loved the Lord. She has left a legacy of love for all who knew her and has touched our lives in such a special way. Her love will spread for generations to come. Martine is preceded in death by her mother Helen Phifer Glass and father Arthur Martin Glass, her husband Richard E. Cox, her first husband Robert R. Oakley, and sister Florence Glass Cox. She is survived by her daughters; Betsy Oakley (Ralph) Smith, Jan Oakley Seebeck, and Bobbie Oakley (Jim) Clinch; grandchildren Harrison (Graham) Smith, William (Evan) Smith, Robert (Lindsey) Smith, Kelly (Melanie) Hotchkiss, Kasey Hotchkiss, James (Casey) Clinch, Adam (Kristin) Clinch, and Annie (Matt) McClain, and 13 great grandchildren. Her memorial service will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, June 13, 2022, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 100 N.E. 1ST Street, Gainesville, FL 32601. A reception will follow.
