Marvin Leroy “Roy” Sharpe, of Hopkins, South Carolina, went to be with his Lord on October 7, 2024, at the age of eighty-seven. He was born on October 4, 1937, in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Marvin Leroy Sharpe and Annie Jane Riley Sharpe. Roy graduated from Columbia High School in 1955. He married his sweetheart, Bonnie Pauline Faircloth Sharpe, in August 1961 and began a long and successful career as a Certified Public Accountant, retiring in 2012. Roy and Bonnie raised their three children on an idyllic farm in Hopkins, where they had many wondrous adventures and shared a beautiful life together. Roy loved his children and their spouses, and “Papa” adored his five grandchildren.
Roy was preceded in death by his mother, father, and numerous aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Faircloth Sharpe, his three children, William L. “Chip” Sharpe (Anne Marie), Scott Sharpe (Patty), and Kristin “Kristi” Sharpe Kirkpatrick (Kevin), and his five grandchildren, Alannah “Ali” East (Brandon), Tyler Sharpe (Madison), Victoria “Tori” Sharpe (Samir), Samantha Sharpe (Hunter), and Kelly Sharpe. His family celebrates his wonderful life.
