COLUMBIA-A memorial service for Mary Faye Snipes, 75, of Columbia, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, 201 Lake Murray Blvd, Irmo, SC 29063. Reverend Dr. Ed Carney will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverland Hills Baptist Church. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073 is assisting the family. Mrs. Snipes passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014. Born on March 16, 1938 in St. George, SC, she was a daughter of the late Reverend Cole B. and Elma Seigler Smith. She was a faithful and active member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church. She was a nursing instructor and during her career she worked at the State Department of Education, University of South Carolina and Midlands Technical College. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Ralph Snipes of Columbia; daughter, Lynn Wogamon (Chris) of Summerville; son, Donald W. Snipes (Mandy) of Lexington; six grandchildren, Todd Wogamon, Brandon Wogamon, Anna Wogamon, Justin Wogamon, Foster Snipes and Taylor Snipes; and brother, Dwight Smith of Fleetwood, NC.
