Mary Stephen Mallan Meriwether died on Saturday, September 30, 2023. She was the wife of the late Hamilton Otey Meriwether, Jr. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Mallan Stalling, and a son Stephen Mallan Meriwether. She is survived by two sons – Otey Meriwether (Teresa) of Charlottesville, Va. and Edward Meriwether (Beth) of Roanoke, Va. ;four grandchildren - Jack (Cortney), Matthew (Jill), Locke, and Stephanie; and four great-grandchildren,two daughters-in-law Lisa Meriwether of Danville, Va. and Jan Meriwether of Richmond, Va. also survive. At her request, her memorial will be private. Diuguid Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church, the Lynchburg Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.
