Mary Jean Welch, 94, of Deltona, Florida passed away on January 2, 2022 at her home. She was born on June 7, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Carl Edwin and Mary Edna (King) Rocklage. Jean was a native of St. Joseph, Missouri. She lived in many states as well as Canada. Jean married her loving husband, Franklin Ray Welch, Sr. and together they shared 35 years of love and happiness until Frank’s unexpected passing in 1983. Jean enjoyed bowling, playing bridge with close friends, gardening, and especially singing solos and being part of the choir at every church she attended. Jean is survived by her children, Franklin Welch, Jr. of Deltona Lakes, FL, Linda Boyd of Bear, DE, Nancy Richard of Vail, AZ, David Welch of Folsom, PA, and Susan Metcalf of Central, SC; and her brother, Charles Rocklage of Overland Park, KS. Jean had 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Jean will be laid to rest beside her late husband. Online condolences may be sent to hiers-baxley.com.
