Mary Lillian Woods

Mary L. Woods, 56, of Cripple Creek, Colorado died on Tuesday, June 14th, 2011 at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado, surrounded by her loved ones.She was born on October 4, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York to Edward and Helen Paul. She graduated from Orange Park High School in 1972. She married her husband, Dean Woods, on June 11, 1983. Mary and her husband relocated to Cripple Creek, Colorado. Mary was employed at the 4th Judicial District Court and previously had worked as a Tax Analyst with Owens Corning. Mary was a compassionate woman who always put the needs of others before her own. Her outgoing and bubbly personality made her a joy to be around. Her last act of compassion was to give the gift of life by being an organ donor. She enjoyed multiple outdoor activities with her husband, friends and family. She is survived by her husband, Dean Woods of Cripple Creek, CO; sons, Josh Woods of Perrysburg, OH and Aaron Burwell of Orlando, FL; sisters, Gayle Miller and Jayne Poplin of Denver, Colorado, and many nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Donna Langley.A Gathering will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM with a Memorial Service following at 3:00 PM Friday, June 17, 2011 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.The family would like for Mary's legacy to not simply reflect their relationship with and memory of her, but to also include the memories friends and loved ones have of Mary. Memorial attendees are asked to bring a photo, letter, or other personal item to leave behind on a memorial board to honor Mary's life and legacy.
