Maxine went to be with our Lord on September 21, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She was born on Feb. 22, 1939, to Wayne and Vivian Barr in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado.

She lived on the family farm northwest of First View and attended Smokey Angle country school before moving to Cheyenne Wells where she graduated from high school. The country school was one room building with a wood burning stove, no running water, no electricity but a playground with miles of sunshine and country. She graduated from CSU in 1960 with a degree in Dietetics and Nutrition, and worked for awhile in Pueblo and Colorado Springs, CO.

She and Elroy were married in Ayer, Massachusetts, where he was stationed with the U S Army. After he was discharged, they moved to Kansas and raised their family of four sons. This was a life-long rewarding pursuit of being busy and happy. She loved her children and later daughters-in law and the children that followed. She and Elroy retired to Colorado Springs in 2010 after residing in Lenora, McDonald and Salina, Kansas for many years.

She leaves to mourn her husband, Elroy of 62 years, her sons; Todd (Jalynn) Osborne of Tulsa, OK, Troy (Lisa) Osborne of McDonald, KS, Scott (Sheila) Osborne of Colorado Springs, CO and Mark (Lori) Osborne of Overland Park, KS, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, her sister Shirley Pedersen of Cheyenne Wells, CO and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on November 2, 2024, 10:00 am at Springs Funeral Services, 4310 Austin Bluffs Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO. A private inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
