Melvin H. Bracewell

LAKELAND - Melvin Hubert Bracewell, Jr, 83, of Lakeland passed into eternity on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 after several years of illness. His family rejoices and takes great comfort in the knowledge that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Born July 18, 1932 in Dale County, Alabama, Mr. Bracewell was retired from the U.S. Air Force and Kraft Foods. He was a member of K-Ville Assembly of God and above all else loved the Lord and his family; he enjoyed woodworking and fishing. Hubert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Louise, children: Steven (Sharon) of Dundee, Mark (Debbie) of Winter Haven, Jerri (Don) Lunsford of Trenton, Irvin (Brenda) of Lakeland, and Gary (Linda) of Newberry, Sisters: Esther Woodham of Moody, TX, Ruth (Roger) Clance of Warner Robbins, GA, a brother, Dan (Kathy) Bracewell of Homosassa, 8 wonderful grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Mr. Bracewell was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Beasley. The family will receive visitors at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven, Florida on Friday, September 18, from 6:00-8:00 PM.
