Melvin “Mike” Taggart, age 68, of North Port, Florida, formerly of Wellsville, Ohio, passed away on June 2, 2010. He was born on May 18, 1942 in Salineville, Ohio. He retired from Ohio Brass in Newell, West Virginia and then moved to North Port in 1993 from Wellsville and he retired as a bus driver with the Sarasota County School District for 13 years. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Robin Ketchum of North Port; two daughters, Teresa (Chris) Harrison of East Liverpool, Ohio, Tammy (Mark) Taggart of Wellsville, Ohio; three sons, Brent of Kulpmont, Pennsylvania, Mike (Michelle) of Salem, Ohio, Mark (Juley) of Loudon, Tennessee; a step-daughter, Angel ( Heath) Reed of East Liverpool, Ohio; a step-son, Shane (Chris) Ketchum of East Liverpool, Ohio; a brother, Harold (Emily) of Chicago, Illinois and three sisters, Rheba (Harry) Rockhold, Rebecca “Beck” Taggart both of Wellsville, Ohio and Kay (Chuck) Gatrell of East Liverpool, Ohio. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Courtney, Alexis, Natalie, Ashley, Caitlyn, Nigel, Melody, Sarah, Mark, Bret, Austin, Dakota, Cheyenne, Peyton, Brooke, Abbie, Madison and a great-grandson, Camden who will soon be joining the family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Vivian Taggart and a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn. Visitation and service will be held at the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home in Wellsville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Wellsville, Ohio.
