Merlinda left us after a long fight with cancer. As we grieve and struggle from the pain of her loss we remain grateful knowing that her pain is gone. We are forever blessed by her love and compassion. Born in Rifle, CO., actually a suburb called Austin which is now Rifle Reservoir. She moved to Denver, CO. In 1950 and grew up to be a beautiful woman. In 1960 she married Thomas Castillo at Sacred Heart Church, a loving and devoted mother; she leaves behind five grown children with families of their own. Thomas Jr (Debbie) Castillo and their seven children; Manny, Kristen, Erica, Tommy, Chris, Justin, Matthew. Lorraine (Thomas) Ruybalid and their three children; Sam, Donavan, Devanee. Wanda (Mike) Sena and their son Anthony. Suzanne Braswell and her four daughters; Charlene, Krissy, Shannon, Elizabeth. Steve (Sylvia) Castillo and their four children; Taylor, Dante, Kamryn, Baileigh. She also leaves behind fourteen great grandchildren. Preceeded in death by her mother and father Richard and Margaret Zertuche, brothers Gilbert, Dave and Jim Zertuche. Also leaving behind Ruby, Priscilla, Sam and Robert Zertuche. We loved her deeply.
