Mike Adams passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. He was born on March 6, 1953 in Albertville, Alabama, to the late Ruby and Louie Adams. His preschool and elementary school years were spent in Aiken, South Carolina, before the family relocated to Columbia, South Carolina. Mike is survived by his wife Vicky of 43 years; son Michael (Regina); sister Myra Wright (Richard); and grandchildren Dawson and Aubrey Adams. Mike was a graduate of Lower Richland High School, Class of 1971. After graduation, he served in the SC National Guard for 6 years. Mike was a dedicated employee at Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel, retiring in 2012. He was founder and co-owner of Po Boy’s Barbeque Sauce. In addition, Mike and his wife were founding members of the South Carolina Barbeque Association and members of the Kansas City Barbeque Society. He and his wife enjoyed judging numerous barbeque competitions together. Mike was also a master Volkswagen mechanic and a true American patriot. The family requests donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. Friends will be received 1:00-3:00pm at Thompson Funeral Home, Leesburg Road location, on Saturday, March 9, 2024.
