PELION: Services for Micheal Lee Angel, 60, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Interment will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens with Military Rites. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Angel passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012. Born in Gastonia, NC, he was a son of the late Aaron Mae Ogle Parks. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Vietnam War; and was retired from Terminix. Mr. Angel's favorite pastimes were bass fishing and RVing. Survivors are his loving wife of 20 years, Brenda Hollis Angel of Pelion; daughters, Meghan Smith (Justin) and Sherri Brannon of Lexington and Bettie Gaston (Scott) of Leesville; sons, Jeremy Angel of West Columbia, Christopher Angel (Brittany) of Lexington and Jay Gaston, Jr., (Catrina) of Gaston; sister, Cindy Baker of North Carolina; brother, Gary Thomas Angel of Lexington; five grandchildren, Collin Angel, Kelsi Angel, Bradyn Smith, Griffyn Smith and Kinley Angel; six step-grandchildren and 1 great step-grandchild. Mr. Angel was preceded in death by sisters, Hilda Morris and Patty Sher.
