Michael Paul DeBonis, age 82, died on Saturday, February 20, 2016, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Danbury, CT, on September 29, 1933. He graduated from high school and married Juliana Rose Skelly on November 21, 1953. He entered the Air Force, and served the military from 1953 to 1974. He spent two tours of duty during the Vietnam War, earning the Bronze Star for meritorious service. He was Honorably Discharged with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant in 1974 and lived the rest of his life in Colorado Springs. After his active duty, he continued to serve the military in a variety of support roles, via the Officers’ Club at Peterson Field AFB and the Retired Enlisted Club in Colorado Springs. He spent more than 20 years in these capacities. Michael and Juliana were active parishioners at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Colorado Springs for the past 15 years. Michael is survived by Juliana, his spouse of 62 years, and children: Vincent and spouse, Venola; Paul (Michael P. DeBonis Jr.) and spouse Bobbi; and Mary Davenport and spouse, Jon; six grandchildren: Michael P. III, Christopher, Caitlin, Victor, Alex, Joshua; and 3 great-grandchildren: Avery, Karsyn & Michael P. IV. He is also survived by his brother Dominick DeBonis and spouse, Gail, along with many nieces & nephews. Michael was predeceased by siblings, Paul and Mary, and father, Arsenio, and mother Jane.
