Michael Wayne Hexum

December 31st, 1953 - April 10th, 2015

Michael Wayne Hexum passed April 10, 2015 from Esophagus cancer. He was born in Hendricks, MN to Lowell & Joyce (Dorn) Hexum Dec. 31, 1953. He grew up in Hendricks MN and after graduating, joined the US Navy in 1972. He was stationed in the Aleutian Islands, AK, and San Diego, CA. Mike was honorably discharged in 1978. He lived in Hendricks after the service and moved to CO in 1982. In 1990 he moved to Interior, SD after the death of his sister Wanda and helped her husband raise their 3 children. Mike moved to ND working on rural water in 1994. He married Winona Two Crow Dec. 23, 1996 and lived in Ft. Yates, ND. Mike spent most of his life working in construction. He was very handy, enjoyed fixing small motors, fishing, and crossword puzzles. He was currently the manager of Jensen's Laundromat. We will remember Mike for his infectious laugh, positive attitude and living life in the moment. Mike was always there to help anyone who needed it in any way. Mike is survived by his wife Winona Two Crow Hexum, 5 step children, 16 grandchildren, father, Lowell Hexum, 2 sisters, Jeanne (David) Nielsen, Wendy (Steve) Conder, Charles Johnston, Brother-in-law, Nieces, Nephews, Aunts & Uncles, 2 Great Aunts. He is preceded in death by his mother Joyce (Dorn) Hexum, Sisters Wanda Johnston, Cheryl Rogers. Michael will be interned at Fort Logan National Cemetery with Military Honors, Denver, CO.
