Michael D. Read, 87, of Venice, FL (formerly of Mystic and Stonington, CT) passed away April 1, 2014. Born September 7, 1926, in York, PA to Marjorie and Kenneth Read, he attended Staunton Military Academy, served in WW II and graduated from Lehigh University. He spent the last twenty years of his professional life working at Electric Boat in Groton and was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Fox Read, and son, Philip. Survivors include his son, Michael Read, Jr. (wife, Dalila) and grandchildren Kenneth, Stephanie and Michelle. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Church in Stonington on Saturday, April 12th at 11:30 am.
