Michael Leonard "Mike" Russell

Michael Leonard (Mike) Russell of Venice, FL (formerly of Newark, DE) passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. He was 71. He was born on January 4, 1950, in Port Huron, Michigan to the late Maurice E. and Elizabeth C. (Marker) Russell. He graduated from Christiana High School and Temple School of Pharmacy. He served in the United States Armed Forces. He was a pharmacist for Rite Aid and Pathmark (both in New Castle) before moving to Venice, FL in 2005. He enjoyed going to the beach, golfing, swimming and spending time with friends. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara M. (Temple) Russell and his daughter, Michele L. Grabowski and husband Eric; grandchildren, Loralei and Wyatt; sisters Maureen Powell and husband, Charles of New Bern, NC and Marlene Russell and husband, Mike Center, of Santa Rosa, CA;. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 10 Johnson Road, Newark, DE 19713. Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Florida is handling the arrangements.
