Michael "Shotzie" Shotts

Michael “Shotzie” Shotts of Haines City, Florida passed away on July 8, 2022. He was 73 years old. He was born on March 5, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio to Hubert and Betty Jane Bolkus Shotts and moved to Haines City in the 1980’s from Levittown, Pennsylvania. Michael was a retired truck driver after some 30 years on the road, as a matter of fact is has been said “he was the best damn truck driver ever.” He was also a personal trainer for Lifestyle Fitness, he liked working out. Shotzie had a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles, “boy’s toys” and having a good time with his friends, but he reserved his True Love for one, Carole, and he was extremely devoted to her. He was predeceased by his parents, Hubert and Betty Jane and his brother, Brett Shotts, as well as his step-sister, Sandra Edwards. Michael is survived by his wife, of 12 years, Carole Shotts; daughter, Sonja Lay and her husband, Dylan; stepchildren, Eric Conant and his wife, Prissy, Lisa Perkins and her husband, Michael, Neil Conant; sister-in-law, Gayle Shots; grandchildren, Trevor and Jared, as well as step grandchildren, Devon, Alyssa, Ava, Dalyn and Davin. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 4:00 pm until the celebration of life service at 5:00 pm, all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City.
