Michael Dean Snyder
January 18th, 1949 - April 21st, 2024
Michael Dean Snyder, 75, of Asheville, NC, passed away on April 21, 2024, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was born on January 18, 1949. Michael, known to many as "Mike," studied briefly at Montreat-Anderson College before joining the Army. He served in the Army ARTY 25 Infantry Division USARHAW from 1969 to 1971, 11 months of which he spent in Vietnam. Following his military service, he dedicated 32 years of his life to working for Bell South. Outside of his professional life, Mike was an avid pool player who enjoyed competing in regional and national tournaments. His love for the game brought joy to all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Joelle Snyder; daughter, Melissa Snyder; stepdaughter, Vanessa Driscoll Bialobreski (John), niece and nephews and was preceded in death by his mother, Lucile Dean Snyder; father, HJ Snyder; brother, Jimmy Snyder; and sister, Brenda Crim. A ceremony to honor Mike's life will be held at 12pm on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Thompson Funeral Home in Columbia, SC 29209, is assisting with the arrangements. A special thanks to the staff at Agape Care Group, Devoted Care, and the Richland County Fire Department for aiding in caring for Mike in his last few months. Rest in peace, Mike. You will be missed.
