August 8th, 1926 - September 6th, 2003
Mike L. Niemiec, 77 an Esko and Cloquet resident died Saturday, September 6, 2003 in Cloquet Community Memorial Convalescent Nursing Home. He was born August, 1926 in Duluth, MN to Thomas and Annie (Nepouer) Niemiec. Mike graduated from Morgan Park High School. He served in the Army during World War II. Mike married Precilla (Ness) Borgeson. He retired from United States Steel in 1979. He was a sport enthusiast and loved the outdoors. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve Koscak; sisters, Mary Safro, Ann Klegin and Rose Beloshapka. Mike is survived by his wife, Precilla and children Lynda (Brad) Juntunen of Cloquet, Steven (Chris) Borgeson of Spotsylvania, VA, Jim (Toni) Borgeson of Lake Nebagamon, WI; Mark (Denise)Borgeson of Hanover, MN; Sherry Cook of Dallas, GA; Thomas (Rachel) Niemiec of Longwood, FL; Annette Niemiec of Duluth; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Monday, September 8, 2003 at Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet with Deacon Terry Twomey officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
