Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Venice
Mildred Maud Dear
January 12th, 1923 - July 14th, 2015
Mildred M. Dear (née, Aubrey) passed away at the age of 92, on July 14, 2015 at Tidewell Hospice at Plantation in Venice, FL, surrounded in love by her family. The youngest of five children, she grew up outside of Malone, NY, and married Lewis L. Dear in 1945. Together, they raised a family on their farm in Ft. Covington, NY until retiring to Englewood, FL in the early 1980's. Her family has much to be grateful to Mildred for. She modeled devotion in her 64 years of marriage, strength in her faith carried out in the Methodist church, and limitless love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. She filled the role of family documentarian, by taking photographs which she proudly displayed and generously shared. She was quick to laugh and equally quick to cry, and will be remembered by her family as someone who cared deeply. Her friends at Venetian Gardens remember her for her agreeable nature. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; George and Maude Aubrey, Rufus, Ruth, David and Davis Aubrey, as well as her treasured husband, Lewis. She is survived by her sons: Kenneth L. Dear and fiancée Jill Nickell, and Dale A. Dear and wife Barbara; her five grandchildren: Karin Bilderback and husband Craig, Michelle Scalia and husband Matthew, Michael Dear and wife Ashley, Dale Dear and Jennifer Dear; her six great grandchildren: Grant, Elizabeth and Clark Bilderback, Abigail, Caroline and Claire Scalia, and Jake Dear. Following cremation, interment will be made at The Burke Cemetery in Burke, NY at a date still to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tidewell Hospice at Plantation in Venice, Florida.
