Carmela "Millie" Manning, 98, of Winter Haven, FL died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Winter Haven. Born May 7, 1920 in New York, NY she moved to Florida 35 years ago and moved to Winter Haven from Inverness, FL 21 years ago. She was Catholic, was a seamstress with the Intl. Ladies Garment Workers Union, was a big fan of the NY Mets, crochet and loved cruises. She was also a member of the Friday Seniors Bowling League at Cypress Lanes in Winter Haven. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister. She is survived by: her husband of 70 years, Edward A. Manning; a daughter, Helen Makuta and her husband Tom of Winter Haven; a son, Edward J Manning and his wife Eileen of Staten Island, NY; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4:00pm till 7:00pm, Monday, June 18, 2018 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery. The family has requested that memorial donations be made in her name to the St. Jude Children's Hospital or the American Kidney Foundation. Condolences may be sent at www.oakridgefuneralcare.com.
