Minnie Harris
May 14th, 1935 - August 7th, 2018
Minnie Pearl Harris was born May 14, 1935 in Waco, Texas. As a young adult she met her husband, D. H. Harris, and they married June 8, 1954. She is remembered as a loving, happy person, a Registered Nurse, a daughter, a sister, a mother, a grandmother and most of all a strong Christian. She loved, followed and worshiped God with all her being. Those who knew her will attest to this. Celebrating the life of Minnie Pearl are her loving children Delmer La Rue Harris (Victoria) of Washington state, Karen Joy Evans (Michael) of Texas and Keith Darren Harris (Magdalen) of Wyoming; nine grandchildren Tahlia, Tawny, Trenton, Nathaniel, Rachel, Micah, Marina, Melina, and McKenzie and five great-grandchildren Nathaniel Jr., Christian, Anttone, Emery and Eastyn. Minnie Pearl is survived by her three lovely sisters Melba Jean (Texas), Irma Ray (Texas), Debra Ann (Texas), and two wonderful brothers Vernon Lee (Texas), and Herman Jr. (Texas). She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Earline Johnson and her younger sister Ina May. Minnie Pearl loved God and her family more than anything. She dedicated her life to serving both. For all who knew her it was clear she was the matriarch of the Johnson-Harris extended family and kept in touch with everyone regularly. Her favorite sayings were “God loves you and so do I and God is good”. She will be missed tremendously. Service will be held at First Southern Baptist Church at 1409 Palmer Park Blvd in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:30am.
