August 14th, 1963 - September 29th, 2018
Mishel E. Powell, 55, of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at her home after an extended illness. Born August 14, 1963, in Montour Falls, New York, she was the daughter of Bonnie Covington and the late Frank Glenn Wood ,Sr.(Linda). She was previously employed with Amazon as a customer service representative. She was an artist and loved to sing and had many talents. In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, Richard H. Powell, Jr; three daughters, Niki Fleshman (Brandon), April Webb (Douglas) and Heather Powell; five sisters, Stefani Tucker (David), Helena Childress, Jessicalynn Byars (Randy), Meggin Pitcher (Jason), Yvonne Price (Donnie Ray); two brothers Floyd Wood (Patricia) and Filip Wood and his wife, Megan; eight grandchildren, Seth, Shane, Braylin, Brandon Jr, Blaze, Madisyn, Ailey and Katelyn; sister-in-law, Teresa Wood and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Jonathan Cody Powell and her oldest brother, Frank Glenn Wood Jr., and oldest sister, Liza Daunne Voorheis. The family will receive friends and celebrate Mishel’s life with a period of fellowship at a later date. Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory, Wiggington Road Chapel, 385-8900, is serving the family.
