Murell D. Keeney

Murell D. Keeney, 62 passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018. He was born December 7, 1955 in Columbia, SC to the late William and Alvertis Keeney. He was also predeceased in death by his beloved wife, Deborah Blanten Keeney; siblings, Thelma Williams, Mary Elizabeth, Marion and David Keeney. Survivors include his siblings, Kenneth Keeney (Jerry) of Darlington, SC, Carl Keeney (Gwen) of Prosperity, SC and locally by Patricia and Katherine Keeney and Carol Cooper (Lavern). Murell also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews as well as two young boys, Linkin and Legend Rish who were all very near and dear to his heart. Murell was retired from the U. S. Navy after 30 years of service. A visitation will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff at Lexington Medical Center for the loving care and compassion given to our brother.
