Myrtle Elizabeth Blair Maki, 91 of Cromwell died on Tuesday, January, 26, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. She was born in 1918 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin to Joseph and Marvel Blair. She was raised and attended school in Cloquet. Myrtle married Arthur Maki on January 21, 1939 in Cloquet. Myrtle and Arthur farmed the "Sunnyside Dairy" in Cloquet until moving to Cromwell in 1955. There she worked at the Trolley Cafe and later in Villa Vista Nursing Home. Myrtle loved cooking, gardening and birds. She loved to watch her grandchildren play basketball. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; infant daughter, Harriet; brothers, Joseph Blair and Chester Blair. She is survived by her son, Richard Maki of Barnum; daughters, Rita (Don) Clark and Judy (Don) Line both of Cromwell, and Jeanne (Claude) Woodward of Cloquet; sister, Dolores Johnson of Little Chute, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Helen Maki of Carlton; grandchildren, Beth, Theresa (Travis), Keith, Heidi (Mick), Aaron and Corbin; three great grandchildren, Clark, Cameron and Cooper. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of ninth floor west in St. Mary's Hospital for their special care of Myrtle. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 30, 2010 in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet with a lunch following in the Fireside Room of the funeral home.
