Nadine C. Roberts, age 93, of Nokomis, FL, died on October 1, 2007. She was born in Gainesville, FL on December 21, 1913, and moved to the Nokomis area in 1934. Nadine was the youngest of seven children, and only girl, born to George and Palma Cauthen. She was an LPN and worked at both the Venice Hospital and Doctor’s Hospital in Sarasota. Nadine was a Charter and 50 year Member of the Venice Order of the Eastern Star, and served as First Worthy Matron. She was also a member of the Amaranth Chapter, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Daughters of the Nile, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the First Baptist Church in Venice. Surviving family members include her son, George Roberts and wife Cecily, of Eustis, FL; granddaughters Terry Gibson and Linda Roberts of Albuquerque, Mew Mexico, great grandson Tyler Curtiss of Albuquerque, step granddaughter Michelle Beheler and step great grandson Corey, both of Dallas, North Carolina, and many devoted nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel from 6 – 8 PM on Thursday, October 4th, with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7 PM. Funeral service will be on Friday, October 5th at 10 AM at the First Baptist Church in Venice.
