Nancy Anne Olsen
April 19th, 1950 - January 15th, 2015
Nancy Anne Olsen passed away peacefully and surrounded by family in Monterey on Thursday, January 15th. She was born in Sacramento, California on April 19, 1950, the second child of Theodore and Doris Olsen. After graduating from Evergreen State College in 1976 she went on to get her Master's Degree in Bio-Chemistry at The University of Arizona and her Master's Degree in International Environmental Policy at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. She is survived by her three children, daughter, Audrey and her husband Chris Whirlow of Danville, son, Benjamin and his wife Holly DiRenzo of Thousand Oaks and son Nicholas DiRenzo of Monterey; Six grandchildren, Joey, Tommy and Clarissa Mesta of Crestview, FL., Emerson Whirlow of Danville, and Bella and Dante DiRenzo of Thousand Oaks; Siblings, Ingrid Lodin of Concord, Deb Moehrke of Vacaville and Ted Olsen of San Diego. Nancy's passions were her family, wildlife, working in her garden and her beloved dogs. She will be missed by her family and many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula at https://www.chomp.org/donate/donations/#.VLsB6kfF9yU A Celebration of Life will be planned for Saturday, February 7th at 1:00 pm at The Samson Center Reading Room on the campus of the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, 453 Van Buren Street, Monterey, CA.
