Naomi Vasquez

Naomi Melissa Vasquez, 66, of Ocala, Florida passed away at Advent Health of Ocala on March 28, 2022. She was born May 30, 1955, the daughter of the late William D. and Lydia A. Gattis. Naomi was a native of New York City before moving to the Ocala area from Miami in 2018. In 1982, she married her loving husband, Luis, and together the two shared many years of love and happiness. Naomi was an ophthalmic technician. She enjoyed dancing, hosting family and friends, and she took great pride in her culinary skills. Naomi is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Luis Vasquez; her children, Alexis, and grandchildren, Phillip and Olivia; Naomi’s son, Alex; his wife, Alexsis and grandchildren Alex, Alicia and Angel; her siblings, Melanie; Tommy; Billy, Jackie, Martin, and Jimmy. Her many nieces, nephews, cousins, her beloved bird, Sunshine, her faithful canine companion, Bandit, and many more friends and family who loved her. A funeral service for Naomi will be held at 7:00pm on Saturday, April 2 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services (910 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34470). Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made online to Marion County Animal Services.
