Nicholas Guerriero
November 30th, 1949 - July 8th, 2016
Nicholas (Nick) Neil Guerriero passed on July 8, 2016 at the age of 66. Nick was born on November 30, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan to Anthony Joseph and Evelyn Viola Guerriero, the youngest of three boys. He was a loving father to his two children – Robin and Christopher. He was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1969. He had a fascination with gadgets, photography and cars – finding joy in maintaining the family vehicles. His first job in the phone business was for Michigan Bell servicing pay phones. When he moved to Vail in the mid-’70s, he transferred to Mountain Bell and then to AT&T and eventually had his own commercial phone company called GEO Communications. Besides electronics, he was also a talented mechanic, electrician and plumber.- fondly known around Vail Valley and Summit County as the “friendly communications guy, he was always quick with a smile and a joke.” Many Vail businesses depended on Nick to set up and maintain their phone systems. In the ’80s, Nick built his family a home in Eagle-Vail, and at around that time he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He retired in 2007. He is survived by his two children Robin and Christopher (Maggie) Guerriero, Brothers Gary and Randy Guerriero and other extended family members. The family would like to thank the staff at North Star for all the care they provided for Nick. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society/the Colorado-Wyoming Chapter. A service will be held at a later date at Fort Logan in Denver Colorado.
