Norma Ortiz

Norma Ortiz, 76, of Dundee, Florida passed away on Friday, April 9th, 2021, at Good Shepherd Forsythe Hospice House in Auburndale. A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Norma came to the area in 2010 from The Bronx, New York where she was Downstate Chief of Staff for Senator Pedro Espada and the Executive Assistant for Soundview HealthCare Network. Norma was also a self made businesswoman as the Owner and CEO of Response Executive Answering Services, this very special answering service catered to actors, actresses, other celebrities, politicians and executives in New York. Norma was an avid theatre buff, in fact she treated her children and grandchildren to their very first, live Broadway shows. Norma loved flowers and would always ensure there were enough flowers and plants throughout her garden for everyone to enjoy. Norma was also a member of the Brooklyn Tabernacle and was known as everybody's 2nd Mommy, she will be dearly missed. Norma was preceded in death by her mother, Natalia Torres and stepdaughter, Tina Ortiz. She is survived by her husband, of 45 years, Luis Armando Vega-Ortiz; son, Anthony Ortiz and wife, Venus; two stepsons, Luis Ortiz, Jr. and wife, Debra and Patrick Ortiz; two daughters, Sabrina Robinson and husband Richard and Migdalia Ortiz; brother, John Marxuach and wife, Anna; five grandchildren, Christina, Enrico, Demetrius, Amaris, Darius and three great grandchildren, Natalie, Cameron, and Cassidy as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City with the funeral services starting at 3:00 pm. Burial will take place on Monday April 19, 2021 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at 10:30 am.
