Norma Lee Sieving
October 1st, 1935 - May 15th, 2020
Norma Lee Davis was born to Emma and Earl Davis in Nixa Missouri on Oct 1, 1935. Norma lost her parents when she was 2 years old. She and her sister, Marcella lived with and were raised by their grandparents and aunts and uncles. She was close to her cousins and acquired a nickname of Dink. In 1953 she met the love of her life Vernon Sieving and was soon married. They moved to California where Vernon had a job working as a carpenter for Universal Studios. In 1954 their first child, Sherry was born in Newport Beach. During their brief stay in California they enjoyed spending time with her sister, Marcella and husband, Les Covey. Later that same year they returned to Missouri where Vernon worked on a dairy farm. Their second child, Larry was born in Missouri in 1955. After a couple of years, due to health concerns, they decided to relocate to Colorado where Vernon was stationed while serving in the Army. Vernon resumed his career as a carpenter and Norma began her career in food service. They settled in Denver and had two more children, Dennis in 1957 and Diane in 1960. While juggling being a mom and having a career Norma soon was promoted to supervisor then Manager. No matter where she worked and for whom she would start at the bottom and work herself up. She worked for St Anthony's Hospital, Canteen Corp, and the State of Colorado. Her career in food service ended in 1974 due to disability. Nothing stopped Norma though. She immediately got busy in her role as an officer for the Greater Marlee Homeowners Association. She also was active with her church Good Shepherd Lutheran and she helped with the Church's Day Care Center until the church was dissolved. Norma loved people and felt strongly about her community. She received an award from the governor's office recognizing her civic contribution and for her connection to the community. During that time, she had several grandchildren that kept her busy. She loved giving them rides to school, having lunch with them, watching them play sports and even teaching them how to drive. She would never miss a ball game and she was their greatest cheerleader. When Vernon passed away in 2011, she left her home of 42 years and moved in with her daughter Sherry and family. On May 15, 2020 she left us all as she entered Jesus' arms and God welcomed her home. We thank Him for giving her to us for so many years. She left behind her 4 children and their spouses, 17 grandchildren and their spouses and 38 great grandchildren and countless friends. She was affectionately known as and called "mom" and "grandma" by many people who knew her. Norma loved each and every one of you. Whether she knew you for 20 years or 5 minutes, she always made you feel special. She will be missed and remembered by so many for her great smile, her kind generous spirit and willingness to help anyone in need. Events Details are pending.
