The family will receive friends and hold a memorial service at the Forest Pines Retirement Community in Columbia, SC for Norma Sellers Vincent at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2011. For approximately10 years, she resided at the Forest Pines where she had many dear friends. Following this service, a graveside service will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park at 5:00 p.m. by her son Rev. Van Segars and grandsons Rev. Shane Segars and Navy Commander Vincent Segars. On Tuesday, June 7, 2011, Norma completed her 89 year journey through this life. She was born November 13, 1921 the daughter of Clifton and Essie Sellers of Bamberg County, SC. Norma was preceded in death by her husband Army Warrant Officer John Vincent of Kershaw County. She is survived by her son Van Segars and his wife Jean Segars of Montgomery, Al and her sister Louise Leaphart of Columbia, S.C. She was the proud Grandmother of two grandsons Navy Cmdr. Vincent W. Segars and his wife Alisa living in Tampa, FL and Rev. Shane C. Segars and his wife Jenelle living in Springfield, MO. Norma was affectionately known as ?G? ?G? by her six grandchildren, Taylor, Riley, Ben, and Cade of Springfield, MO and Amanda and Kaitlyn of Tampa, Fl. Norma retired as a merchandise buyer with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. Although she considered South Carolina her home state, she had a sense of adventure and lived many years in Louisiana, Alaska, Texas, Hawaii and Alabama. Norma had a great love for family, fashion, traveling, and Bible studies. Her greatest relationship was with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia, S.C., where when able, she attended her beloved Sunday school class. Norma was a true blessing to her family, church family, longtime friends and close acquaintances at the Forest Pines Retirement Community. She will be dearly missed.
