Norman B. Dennis

Norman B. Dennis, 74, of Citra passed away Tuesday, August 10 in hospice care at Cate's House, Ocala. He was a native of Durham, North Carolina and graduated from Durham High and graduated from Durham High, where he was active in the marching band. Mr. Dennis went on to attend NC State University, and later also earned an MBA from Wake Forest University. His professional career with GTE included time at headquarters in Las Colinas, TX and five years in Caracas, Venezuela. After retiring from the corporate world, he and his wife relocated to Florida and bought a small farm. He returned to work for FEMA as a community relations coordinator during National Disasters. Mr. Dennis had many interests over the years, but the farm and extensive boating adventures with his wife and close friends gave him the most pleasure. Norman Dennis is survived by his wife, Pamela, his nephew, Dr. Curt Meinecke, wife Fifi; his nieces, Louisa Margolis and Kristin Pugh; mother -in-law, Betty Connell; brothers-in-law, Butch Connell, wife Selina, and James Connell. He also has four great nephews and two great nieces. There will be a service at 4pm on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala, 910 E Silver Springs Blvd. Ocala.
