Norman Wayne Niesen, 57 of Mahtowa, passed away, surrounded by his loving wife on Thursday December 19, 2019 in his home. He was born November 23,1962 in Duluth to Theodore and Judith Niesen. He graduated from Cloquet High School in 1981 and continued his education, obtaining his Bachelor's degree from Minnesota State University-Mankato. Norman served his country as a Paratrooper in the 82' Airborne Division in the United States Army from 1981 until 1985, after which he served in the Army Reserves until 1993. In October of 1990, he married Pamela Hale in Coon Rapids. Norman worked at Halvor Lines as a Truck Driver for 25 years. He enjoyed cruising with his wife, science fiction reading, wood working, gardening, camping, canoeing and gaming. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Judith Niesen. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Sue Niesen of Mahtowa; sister, Ann Niesen (Michael Thersen) of Aurora; brother-in-laws; Jim (Jen) Hale and Jeff (Sloane) Hale; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
