March 11th, 1934 - December 16th, 2016
Norman D. Wood, 82, of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on December 16, 2016.Norman spent twenty years in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam and other locations, and retired as Master Sergeant. After retiring, he worked as an entrepreneur, civil servant, and defense contract administrator.Before dementia claimed his mind, Norman enjoyed reading, traveling and following politics. Norman is survived by his children; Bill (Christine) Wood, Rebecca (Dieter) Giselbrecht, David (Svitlana) Wood, Diana (Chris) Anderson, Karl Haefner, Peter (Cathy) Haefner, John (Fridah) Wood, James Wood, Steven (Anne) Wood, and daughter-in-law; Veronica Haefner, twenty-two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; Donald Wood and Margaret Nagle, his first wife; Sigrid Law, his second wife; Donna (Haefner) Wood, and son; Eric Haefner.A private family memorial service will be held at a future date.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services~North6575 Oakwood Blvd.Colorado Springs, COUSA 80923 Events Service Thursday, January 5, 2017 11:00AM The Springs Funeral Services 3115 East Platte Avenue Colorado Springs, CO 80909 Phone: 719-207-8855
