Olga Leon Diaz

Olga Leon Diaz, 91, of Winter Haven, FL passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Forsythe House in Auburndale. Born January 4, 1925 in Tampa, FL she moved to Winter Haven in 1961. She graduated from the University of Tampa in 1958 and was a First grade teacher at Brigham Elementary School and Elbert Elementary School. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winter Haven; Past president of St. Joseph Church Catholic Women's Club; former member and Philanthropic Chairperson of Today's Floridians Women's Club; past president and member of Polk Training Center for Handicapped Citizens Parents Association; and member of the Columbiettes of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4726, Winter Haven. Olga is survived by: her husband of 73 years, Ralph Diaz; her son, Ralph Diaz, Jr. of Apex, NC; a daughter, Irene Diaz Simmons of Winter Haven; a daughter, Cathy Anne Diaz of Winter Haven; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.
