Patricia "Poehler" Marie Kretzer

Pat was born Patricia Marie Poehler on the 31st of July, 1924 in Portland, Oregon to Frank and Mabel Poehler. She was their second daughter, joining their first child, Frances Adele, who was to be her lifelong best friend. Pat grew up on Taggart Street in a brick house. She was an admitted tomboy of sorts, where she preferred to play outside but she was also an accomplished ballerina during her teen years. Pat graduated from Franklin High School the same year as a young man named Robert G. Lake. They knew each other through their elementary school years and young Bob would often exclaim to his mother that he walked “Patty Poehler” home! One afternoon, Pat was walking downtown, when a man in a car leaned out of the window and asked, “Would you like a ride home?” Bob had returned from the war and they eventually married on January 26, 1946. Pat worked for the Internal Revenue Service until she became a homemaker upon the birth of her children. Pat loved children and she raised three with Bob on top of Mt Scott in Happy Valley until his early death in 1970. She returned to government service by working for the Veterans Administration until her retirement. Pat married Glenn Kretzer and until his death in 2001, shared a rich full life of travel, home and family. Pat lived independently in Happy Valley and continued to enjoy her hobbies, friends and family until her death on March 4, 2016. Pat is survived by her three children, Carol Senn, Linda Lake and Stephen Lake (Dena); six grandchildren; Jaycub Robbins, Andrew Senn, Marissa Clarke-Ritter (Alex), Sarah Lake, Ian Blankenbijl and Eric Blankenbil and great grandson Kyden Robbins.
