Wilhelm's Portland Memorial Funeral Home

120 Years of Compassionate Care

At Wilhelm's Portland Memorial, we have a rich history dating back to 1901 when we became the first crematory west of the Mississippi River, known then as The Portland Cremation Association. Our historic chapel, marked by its cornerstone placed on February 5th, 1901, has stood the test of time. Today, our memorial site spans 8 stories, approximately 7 miles of corridors of beautifully preserved architecture, and the largest mausoleum on the west coast, spanning 2.5 city blocks. The vision of our local citizens who founded Portland Memorial over a century ago lives on through the grand walkways of granite and marble as a final resting place for thousands of Oregonians. Our commitment is to provide comfort, guidance, and a place of peace during life's most challenging moments.

I've worked with Wilhelm's a couple of times. They are very well organized, thoughtful and pricing is reasonable.

My sister and I had a wonderful experience with Wilhelm's Portland Memorial Funeral Home. The event of our loved one's passing was unexpected and unreal. Trying to navigate plans for a funeral amidst the disbelief was difficult beyond words. Bryce's calm presence and steady guidance made a world of a difference for myself and our family. We could rest a little easier during that time knowing our loved one was under his care. We are beyond grateful.

I love this historic funeral home. It's beautiful! Grew up in Sellwood and remember walking around here when I was a child and went to kindergarten next door. Never imagined that I would be going there 40 something years later for my parents passings. Wilhelm's did wonderful by me for my mother in 2020 and so I used them again last month for my father's passing. My only complaint is that I had asked that they not shave my father and lo and behold his face was shaved.

The Process was made easier by the staff. My Mom who passed had purchased a burial plan many years ago. Wilhelm honored the plan.
