Paul Dolph Doyle
April 23rd, 2007
One day after Earth Day, the backhoe went silent. Paul Dolph Doyle, 73 died peacefully in his home in Cloquet on Monday, April 23, 2007. Paul was born in 1934, in the township of Knife Falls, to Dolph and Sira Doyle. Paul was a lifelong resident of the Cloquet area and was a graduate of Cloquet High School. Paul was a man who set high standards. He was known for his strong work ethic, honesty, and an eye for details. He learned these values while growing up and working on the family farm. He often said that working at Northwest Paper for 13 years taught him independence and some would argue that he already had that. Paul was owner and operator of Doyle Trucking and Excavating. He was proud to sit on the backhoe, working along side his son Kenneth, installing septic systems. Paul was a gentle and kind man. He enjoyed feeding wild birds and had a way with animals. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Joyce. Paul is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Pat) Doyle of Superior, Mark (Sue) Kramer of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mike (Carrie) Kramer of Snowhomish, Washington, and Pat Kramer of Stafford, Oregon; daughter, Jane (Jon) Steiner of Esko; brothers, John (Sharon) Gray of Duluth, and James (Sherry) Gray of Ramsey; sister, Colleen (Mitchell) Dennie of Duluth; special friend, Patricia Kellar; and step grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Paul will be missed by his friends at the Family Traditions Restaurant. Memorial Services were held on Saturday, April 28, 2007 in Northland Funeral Home Chapel, 801 14th Street in Cloquet. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet. To sign the guest book and offer an online tribute, see www.northlandfuneralhome.com
