HAINES CITY - Paul K. Gabel, 73, died Thursday, October 1, 2015 at his home. He was born December 4, 1941 in Bellaire, OH, to Harry and Dorothy (Shepherd) Gabel. Mr. Gabel was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served 30 years for the Columbus Police Department in Ohio before retiring to Florida. He was Methodist by faith and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was predeceased by his parents and son Steven Gabel. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Kathleen Gabel; son Michael (Elizabeth) Gabel of OH; brothers William (Marilyn) Gabel of Winter Haven and Robert (Brenda) Gabel of OH; and grandchildren Sean and Erin Gabel. At his request no services will be held. Arrangements are by Oak Ridge Funeral Care Haines City. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 21475, St. Petersburg, FL 33742. Condolences may be sent to oakridgefuneralcare.com.
