Paul M. McMahon, Jr., age 89, of Venice, Florida passed away on November 26, 2015. He was born on March 13, 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a staff sergeant in the Army Air Force, 315 Wing, 16 Bomb Group in the Pacific Theater on a B-29 Bomber as a gunner. He participated in many 15-18 hour missions from Guam to Japan, refueling at Iwo Jima during 14 hour missions. He was an avid golfer and belonged to the Jacaranda Country Club for many years until he joined the Venice Yacht Club. He is survived by three sisters; Ruth Johnson of LaGrange, Illinois, Dorothy Samuels of El Dorado Hills, California and Monica Coscarelli of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Paul also leaves behind many friends too numerous to mention. He was a true gentleman, kind, gentle, generous and witty. Paul will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:30PM on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Venice Memorial Gardens. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
