Peggy Felder Carr, Columbia - Peggy Carr, 88, passed away on June 16, 2024. Peggy was born December 22, 1935, in Columbia, S.C. to Lin Felder and Ruth Gibson Felder Hendrix. Peggy was blessed to be raised by her adoring stepfather, Ed Hendrix. Peggy was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Jim and her loving grandson, David Elrod. 

Peggy is survived by her children, Leslie Elrod (Terry), Jay Carr (Sheri), and Stephen Carr (Pam); grandchildren, Kelli Partin (Chris), Jake Carr (Rhonda), Matthew Carr (Jeanne), and Catherine Tekac (Tyler); six great-grandchildren, Autumn Lakes, Wells Partin, Watson Partin, Wren Partin, James Carr, and Esther Carr. 

Peggy loved her family dearly, she loved to play Scrabble, Bingo, and Bridge with her Watercrest Assisted Living friends, but most importantly she loved Jesus and placed her faith in Him many years ago. Peggy and Jim taught Sunday School at Shandon Baptist Church and led a Bible study at Fort Jackson for many years.

Peggy’s family wants to thank the staff at Vitality Living Columbia (formerly Watercrest) for their loving care for her over the past two- and one-half years. 

The family will receive friends at Shandon Baptist Church on Thursday, June 20th, at 10:30 a.m. with the service following at 11:30. Interment will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Shandon Baptist Church, 5250 Forest Drive, Columbia, SC 29206.
