Perry C. Grier, 84, of Venice, FL, formerly of Middletown, OH, passed away on January 10, 2016. Perry attended Middletown High School and Depauw University in Greencastle, IN. He was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He also served during the Korean War era in the US Army at Fort Hood, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Sue Miller-Grier; daughters Sandra White of Indiana and Kathy Butler of Florida; granddaughter Kelly Porter; great granddaughter Madelyn Stuart Porter; sisters Clare Noyes of Pennsylvania and Carol Herzog of Georgia; multiple nieces and nephews; stepchildren Steven Miller of Kentucky, Regan Pfeiffer of Wisconsin, Tom Miller of Florida, and Alison Miller of California. Perry was preceded in death by his son, Keith Grier. Perry was an avid tennis player and a member of the Middletown Tennis Club as well as a former tournament linesman. He was also a member of the Venice Theater Guild and was an active volunteer for the Venice Theater. Perry also volunteered at Historic Spanish Point in Osprey, FL. There are no local services planned at this time. Farley Funeral Homes & Crematory is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice Philanthropy Department, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34238.
