Pete J Valdez

Pete J. Valdez was born on July 11, 1934 to Joe G. Valdez and Georgia M. Valdez. He received his Angel Wings on December 7, 2022. Pete was born and raised in Raton, New Mexico where he also attended school. Upon completion of his education, he joined the U.S. Air Force. After serving his country, he lived many years in Denver, Colorado before returning to Raton, New Mexico. He worked at the Allen Mine until his retirement. Pete enjoyed watching horse races, playing pool, and visiting Casinos. Pete was predeceased by his parents, brother Joe Valdez, sisters Rita Lopez and Linda Jordan; sons Pete F. Valdez and Samuel Ortiz; daughter Karen Lopez; and grandson Pete F. Valdez II. Pete is survived by children Orlando Ulibarri (Gloria); Cathy Brown (Kevin); Elizabeth Diles; Anthony Valdez; Brinda Hough (Steve); Sammy Valdez; Norman Valdez; Deborah Valdez (Daniel Martinez). He is also survived by twenty-five (25) grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Henrietta Valdez and Mae Rodriguez (Robert Hathorne) and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place per Pete's request. Internment will be in the Raton, New Mexico Fairmount Cemetery at a later date.
