Peter P. Gazda, 68, of North Port, FL and formerly of Chicopee, MA, passed away on June 18, 2020. He was born in Holyoke, MA to the late Paul and Helen Gazda (nee Bolko). He was a graduate of South Hadley High School (1970) and went on to play football as a defensive tackle for the AIC Yellow Jackets, graduating in 1975. Peter had a long and successful career, first working for Atlas Copco and then as an account manager in the transportation industry. He most recently worked for A. Duie Pyle for 17 years and retired in 2018. Peter was an avid sports fan. He loved football, watching the Boston Red Sox, and especially loved to play golf. Peter leaves his best friend and loving wife of 44 years, Susan Gazda (nee Krajnak), daughters Tracy Krynick (Greg) of Marlborough, CT and Stephanie Gazda of Winthrop, MA, and granddaughter Addison Krynick, whom he adored dearly. He is also survived by his brother Michael Gazda (Diane) of Florida, sister-in- law Elizabeth Gazda of West Springfield, sister-in-law Bernadette Fernandes (nee Krajnak) of South Hadley, stepbrothers Rudolph Kuc (Patricia) of South Hadley and John Kuc (Diane) of Ludlow, stepsister Alice Partanen (William) of Florida and stepsister-in-law Patricia Kuc of Chicopee. He also leaves many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Peter was predeceased by his stepmother Sophie (Kuc) Gazda, brother Paul Gazda, stepbrother William Kuc, his in-laws Joseph and Anna Krajnak, brother-in-law Joseph Krajnak, sister-in-law Ann Griffin (nee Krajnak), brother-in-law John Griffin, and, brother-in-law Ceasar Fernandes. Services for Peter will be held in Massachusetts at a future date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute or the American Cancer Society.
