Philip Daniels
December 23rd, 1941 - May 27th, 2017
Philip Wayne Daniels of Thornton, Colorado passed away peacefully with his loving family surrounding him on May 27th 2017 at the age of 75. He had fought a very courageous battle after suffering a massive stroke 5 years earlier. He was born December 23, 1941 in Dumas, Texas. His family moved to Lebanon, Oregon in 1956. As a young man he selflessly joined the Army where he received training as a medic. After 3 years of service he was honorably discharged and moved to Denver. To know him was to love him and he touched many lives. Phil had a heart of gold and was a very compassionate person toward people. At one time he took the shoes off his feet and gave them to a homeless man who had none. His love for life and humanity would always come through in his stories when reminiscing about the past. He enjoyed watching old time western shows and movies, listening to music, reading, and going to Black Hawk with his beloved wife, Marcia. He was a man with an excellent work ethic and proudly worked for Specialty Chemicals Inc. for 25 years plus. He was well respected by customers, co-workers and management alike. To know him was truly an honor. Phil was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all. He will hold a very special place in all of our hearts and will always be remembered as the extraordinary man that he truly was. He is survived by wife Marcia Daniels; four daughters, Dalaina, Dolores, Cyndy and Julie all of Denver, Colorado; one step daughter, Debbie of Lebanon, Oregon; two sons, Jeffery and Mark of Denver, Colorado; one step son, Ron of Albany, Oregon; three brothers, Danny and wife Barbara of Dumas, Texas, Tommy and wife Linda of Lebanon, Oregon, and Jeff of Sweet Home, Oregon; grandchildren Shay, Brittani, Paige, Jeremy, Mandi, Mendi, Roberta, Rebecca, Brandon, Collin, Madrid and Colton all of Denver, Colorado; as well as 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Franklin Ray Sr.; his mother, Jennie Mae; three sisters, Wanda Hamilton, Dorotha Graham, and Shirley Ives; five brothers, Franklin Ray Jr., Ronnie, Glen, Gary, and Mike.
