Phyllis Corrine Whaley, age 72, of Englewood, died on January 3, 2007. She was born in Holcomb, Missouri on June 12, 1934, and came to this area in 1989 from Flint, Michigan. She retired from General Motors V8 engine plant in 1987. She was a member of the Christian Faith. Surviving family members include her husband, Donald E. Whaley of Englewood; daughter Sarah Watkins of Englewood; sons Gary Michael Whaley of Sarasota, and Mark Kevin Whaley of Swartz Creek, Michigan; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 13, 2007 11 AM at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Venice Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations can be made in her name to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
